Uzbekistan Independence Day is an official national holiday celebrated on the first of September. It is known locally as ‘Mustaqillik Kuni’, and marks the day in 1991 when the Republic of Uzbekistan declared its independence from the Soviet Union. On this day, people across Uzbekistan celebrate with parades, fireworks, concerts, and other festivities.
